The Chiang Mai National museum is the main regional museum for the North of Thailand. It provides information about the history of Chiang Mai and displays a rare collection of artifacts such as Buddhist icons and pottery. It’s the place to start learning more about Lanna culture and the history of this region.
Find your way to Chiang Mai National Museum with this map (you can double-click or right double-click on the map to zoom in or out). The old city of Chiang Mai is a 1.6 x 1.6 kilometer square surrounded by a moat. The National Museum is located north of the old city on the Super Highway. From the North West corner of the moat follow Huay Kaew road about 1.25 kilometer and turn right to the Super highway. After about 1.4 km you find the museum on the left.
