About this guide

Beautiful Chiang Mai is an independent travel guide written by people who live, hike and work between Chiang Mai and northern Europe. It is not affiliated with the Tourism Authority of Thailand or any tour operator.

What we do differently

Most online guides to Chiang Mai are recycled. Every page here is written against current primary sources — the Tourism Authority of Thailand, the Thai Department of National Parks, temple and museum institutional pages — and each fact we cite (Yi Peng dates, Doi Inthanon entry fees, the Songkran processional route) links back to where it came from. Opening hours, fees and seasonal closures are re-checked on a quarterly refresh cycle, and every page shows the date it was last revised.

Beautiful Chiang Mai Editorial Team. Each page lists the date it was last updated.

How we make money

The site carries no display advertising, no sponsored placements and no affiliate links inside guide text. We may add an opt-in newsletter and a small set of clearly-labelled book recommendations. That is the entire commercial layer.
